Every teacher has their own reasons for teaching, but many teachers have some of the same driving forces. Many outsiders look at teachers and say "good for you I could never do that", but why? It is because teaching requires a certain personality and patience that many people do not have. A teachers salary is not high, but every teacher knows that going into the job. They are certainly not looking for a big paycheck. (if they are they better rethink their career) The main cause that drives a teacher is helping others grow and learn, while they themselves learn. "A person teaches because they enjoy the process of presenting information and seeing the student grasp and understand." (thinqon) A teacher enjoys watching their students succeed because they know that they have done a good job. A teachers reward isn't a paycheck, it is the great satisfaction of your students achievements. Many teachers want to teach because they want to be role models. Teachers want to make a change! A good teacher helps change the future of our society and country by bettering each and every student that steps in their classroom. "A strong desire to give back to the community and the world is a driver for teachers. Teaching provides the mechanism to return knowledge to others and to watch them grow and develop intellectually." (Helium.com) Teachers watch their students grow and develop, and they grow and develop with them. Teachers are always learning new things every day from their students and this makes every day new and exciting for them. A person decides to become a teacher because they are a leader. They want to watch their students prosper and want the best for them. Some people choose to teach because they have the summers off and a shorter days than most careers. Others do it for happiness and joy in their lives and to keep themselves young. Every day a teacher is guaranteed a laugh, especially in elementary school! Kids really do say the darndest things! There is never a dull moment as a teacher, and many enjoy it for that reason. Every teacher has their own reasons for teaching, but it all comes down to wanting students to succeed and change the future of our country.
